A 57 inch wide heavier linen weighing 8.1 ounces it is referred to as canvas weight , this linen is perfectly suited for projects that require a sturdier yet still fashionable linen.

The Premier Finish undergoes a two-step process to give the cloth a luxurious, supple feel right out of the box.

First, we apply a softener to give the fabric a silkier surface. Then, strong blasts of air are blown into the woven cloth. This beats up the fibers to make them softer and mimics the fiber bending process that the fabric undergoes when you've used it a lot.

This finishing process gives the fabric a much softer and more luxurious hand. It will be less prone to deep creases and have less linting. Shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration based on the fabric type ( thread size, count, weave type).

I want to make Vogue 1683 - the straight version. Would this IL090 be a better fabric for a classic skirt or would yhe 4C22 Rustic be better. I'm kind of wanting a look of gabardine.

We would recommend the 4C22 heavyweight linen as it has less bulk and has a lovely drape.

Would this work well for simple curtains? I'm looking for a rustic look and heavy coverage for the window. Or would the 4C22 work better?

Both fabrics will work well for curtains, it just depends on the look you are going for. You may like to order samples or 1 yard cuts of each fabric to see them in person and try them out in your space.

I would like to make a belt bag/fanny pack. Would I use this linen or 4C22 or another one? Thank you.

You may find the 4C22 heavyweight linen easier to sew through if your bag has multiple layers in seams. If not, this fabric is also a great choice.

Would this fabric work for pants that have an elastic waist or again will it have too much bulk?

Barbara • March 24, 2024

We recommend our 4C22 as the heaviest linen for pants with only an elastic waistband.

Would this be too heavy for an eventing (horse) jacket? Also, would this pack well without too many wrinkles? Thanks.

Grace S • June 27, 2024

We'd recommend our 4C22 for a structured jacket. This fabric is more wrinkle resistant than our other linen fabrics, so if care is taken when packing, you should be ok.
