This is a 19" wide twin to the 4C22 Rustic linen line.

Woven out of the same size thread and with the same thread density this IL084 is just woven to be narrow. That means less cutting time for you and you can get to the fun part of using your linen items sooner.

At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces a square yard this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.

Yarn Dyed fabrics are made using threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a larger variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color. Design created exclusively for F|S.

Narrow width cloth is great for:

  • Shopping bags
  • Purses
  • Placemats
  • Runners
  • Decorative pillows
  • Kitchen towels
  • Appliance covers
  • Potholders
  • Cushions

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

I love these colorful stripes on white background but don't want a heavy weight fabric to make clothing. Will these colorways be made available in medium and/or handkerchief weight?

At this time, these stripes are only available in this weight and width.

for the experienced sewer, now knowing the shrinkage, what amount of fabric do you use for a towel?

Fantastic napkins

What an easy way to class up your dining table! These linen napkins are soft and perfect. They feel good in your hands and are a pleasure to iron -- and I don't like ironing. A set or two would make great gifts.

Love

Have ordered this fabric in almost all of the colors. I love it! So bright and happy. Making dishtowels for family and friends. Easy to work with. Just make sure you hem before you wash. Otherwise a stringy mess and loss of length. Made about 35 dishtowels so far. Some of them I decided to make four dishtowels from 3 yards. So 27 in length before hem and wash. Total inch for hem and after wash finished length about 25". I personally think a decent size for in the kitchen.

Great fabric

I made this fabric into a bread bag and tea towel set. The fabric is substantial, but easy to sew. I always pre-wash so there are no surprises. I also have made these in other colors, all are available through my Etsy shop: Squirrelly Ging.

Why limit usage to towels?

I loved the mint striped version and purchased enough for a dress. It took a few weeks as I considered the best way to feature the stripes, and I am very happy at the result

Joy to Work With

This fabric is a joy to work with. I bought six yards and will make kitchen towels and placemats. I've made one towel to test it out. I zigzagged the edges and washed and then dried to almost dry. I pressed and wow, I love this fabric. I've already made towels from the more traditional tan and blue stripe. They are incredible. This is the same great fabric, but in more modern colors. It cuts and presses and sews like a dream. Friends love the towels, and so do I. You won't be sorry with this linen.

I found a 2 yard Doggie Bag of IL084 Olivier in Mosaic and decided to make a towel scarf out of it. If you don't know, towel scarves (aka boas) are very handy in the kitchen. Put one around your neck and you always have a towel handy while cooking in the kitchen!

LOVE your linen, and love hand embroidery. And.....I have a passion for dish towels.

I was so excited to get these lovely colors. Such easy towels to make too. I left the selvage on and fringed the ends after prewashing. I like a little bit longer than the standard towel so I used a yard length and it shrank down to 32". Check out my FB page naturalfiberbliss

I love this color!

Norene • July 21, 2022

This is one of my favorite colors. I bought 3 yards of 7 of the colors and made 4 hands towels each. This will make beautiful gifts and liven up my own kitchen. I love the colors. Like Juicy Fruit Gum. I did not pre wash as it wasn't going to make a difference. I cut 27" widths and surged and turned the ends. I left the salvage on. Quick and easy. The towels dry so fast you really don't have to put them in the dryer. Even in humid south Florida. Posted by Joyce
