The rich, vivid hue of ULTRAMARINE Linen
came to define French painter Raoul Dufy's art, filling coastal scenes
across the Riviera with the entrancing, deepening shadows of night.
Known today as one of art history's greatest colorists Dufy embraced a
joyous, technicolor approach to art, coloring paintings, prints,
ceramics and textiles with tones as fresh and sparkling as champagne.
But blue was the one he revered the most, partly because it defined the
marine light of France that he so loved. But he also observed blue's
inherent purity, noting, "Blue is the only colour which maintains its
own character in all its tones…it will always stay blue…whereas yellow
is blackened in its shades, and fades away when lightened; red when
darkened becomes brown, and diluted with white is no longer red, but
another colour—pink."
The beautiful open weave texture of this linen gives it a light, airy opaque look, making it an excellent choice for apparel, intimate apparel, accessories, interior design projects and so much more. This cloth is 57 inches wide.

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.

Only non-chlorine. Bleach if needed.
Tumble dry low.
Medium steam iron.
Do not use Perm Press cycle in wash or dry
