British based painter Tomma Abts chooses retro, in-between shades that are hard to place, particularly the dusty, vintage pink of SHADOW GREY Linen.

Woven like strips of found fabric into her abstract designs, ribbons of these unusual colors fold over and intersect with one another, creating complex visual puzzles that shift in and out of the light but never give the game away.

These soft pinks bring warmth and humanity into her works, suggesting the peachy glow of a half-lit interior.

At a lighter weight of 3.5 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is woven with finer threads to give it a smoother appearance. Referred to as lightweight or handkerchief linen, this fine, but surprisingly sturdy linen brings new meaning to the term "sheer elegance".

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

can you send me a swatch? I am missing the belt to a dress and I think this is the color.

Love the soft color and drape

I plan to make a soft, summery version of the "Jensen" dress by Opal Annie.. it will be my third version of this dress. I wash and dry my linen 3 times to get the real softness I like. Never disappointed with fabric etc. from this store.

This color is irresistible

I had to order because I loved this color and couldn't wait to see it in person. In IL020 it has a beautiful drape and I couldn't be happier with it. I used it for the Nola pattern made into a longer length. Can't decide if it's a dress or a nightgown. But I love the pattern which I'll definitely make again and the fabric. I ordered 3 yds and had enough for this dress (with elbow length sleeves) as well as the Simple Linen Tee. Your free patterns are the best too! It's quite a lot of fun printing them out and piecing them together.

Pretty Color and Soft

This linen is super fine and soft. The color is beautiful. I will likely make a baby dress with it. It washed beautifully.

Perfect vintage mauve

Simply gorgeous color. Made a stunning Easter dress for my girl from it. Sewed up beautifully and the color is perfect.

grey pink/mauve

Lovely grayish pink color that plays well with several other colors of linen including greys, & natural linen. Surprisingly it could be be considered a neutral. I bought it on a whim & wasn't 100% sure I liked it until I made a color blocked tunic using shadow grey and gray whisper in the handkerchief weights. Ordered more to make a breezy pair of summer pants.

I used this Shadow Grey 3.7 oz for the lining of my wedding dress and I absolutely loved it. It created a nice off white under the bleached linen on top and also peaked out from the bottom to give some pink detail. I was so in love with this fabric and even tough an unusual choice for a wedding dress, I am so happy with the linen. I'm thinking of reworking it some so I can continue to wear it.

Love, love, love this fabric. It's so soft with a beautifu drape. Pattern is Matcha Top (from Sew Liberated). I did raw hem (zig zag above the hemline) because I think it's such a beautiful way to show off the fabric. This is a sophisticated pink, feminine yet not girly.

1940's bow-neck blouse, pattern from BrightYoungThings on Etsy.

This is the Eva top, untied.

Annette • July 18, 2021

I used this fabric to make the Eva cascade/tie blouse. The color is so unusual, I just love it. The Eva pattern is so cleverly designed, in that the back is cut on the straight, and the front is cut on the bias, which makes for a pretty drape either tied or untied, and there's plenty to tie, high, low, however you want to. I widened the sleeves at the hem, so they'd be loose and cool for summer. The top went together very quickly and easily. I used French seams. I'll put another picture on here, so you can see the top untied.
