At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

I love sewing with linen of all types as it is so user friendly.This washed well and was easy to sew too. However, it is not as soft as I anticipated compared with other mid weight linen. It is fine for clothing, but I would suggest something with a much softer hand for bedding-especially pillow cases! My favorite linens are those that are mid weight, but have a silkier feel. The colors here are good for clothing as you can not see through them very much. All in all, I liked the fabric, but the process of color selection was tedious because the color swatches shown are so far off. I am showing the Mineral Yellow blouse (with back buttons) for contrast only to the Egyptian Yellow blouse (with gathers in front). Both colors are different from what you see in the monitor. See IL019 Autumn Gold if you want a pretty good idea of what Mineral Yellow looks like in real life.
Great for sheets!
I would call this color saffron. But anyway, I went ahead and made my twin sheet set and it's wonderful. I like it so much better than my RH stonewashed sets which I didn't make. I tailored the bottom sheet to my mattress to fit perfectly. Color aside, IL019 is awesome for bed linens!
Color?
Not at all the color I expected. And I bought 8 yards. :-( I would call it tangerine, and not a terribly fresh tangerine.
This has a lovely hand. I did a quick zig-zag over the cut edges before washing. Almost no fraying after washing/drying on hot. I think it is a perfect gold colour. Not as bright yellow as Bamboo, less orange than Autumn Gold. Will certainly re-order.
The linen, as usual, was lovely and the colour softer and warmer than the screen shot. Very happy.

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
