The warmth of GLACIER Gray Linen shimmered through Agnes Martin’s paintings like light reflecting on water, encouraging us to enter a deep, meditative state of mind. A leading American Minimalist, Martin made her name in 1960s New York for her spare, refined canvases featuring delicate grids and stripes of pale, ghostly color on epically scaled canvases.
Far from cold and impersonal, Martin’s canvases spoke of humanity and warmth, with trembling hand-drawn lines, and rich surfaces that seem to glow with a transcendental radiance. “When I think of art I think of beauty,” she wrote, “Beauty is the mystery of life.

At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Hi - I am looking for a heavier weight (4C22) linen that looks silver. There are so many greys and my monitor doesn't seem to be working to show gradations. Any one give me a hint the closest to silver? Krista in Seattle

I would order a sample of either or both the Mirage Grey and Micro Chip.

Forgive the mess on the couch! We live here. :-P Got an excellent doggie bag deals on this lovely heavy weight -- two lengths of one yard and two lengths of a half yard -- which worked great for our weird-sized window. I gave a wider seam allowance than I probably needed to when joining the lengths, but when the curtains are pushed back it's hardly noticeable. This fabric is crisp and easy to iron, and acts like linen should at the sewing machine. Full disclosure, if I hadn't been concerned about length I should've trimmed the selvage, which would've made for a nicer/cleaner finish along the bottom edge; as it is, it's slightly warped because the selvage and fabric shrunk at *juuuust* slightly different percentages. But I love the way linen softens the sun's glare even in strong afternoon light -- without weighing down the living space. Overall, I'm very pleased with the fabric.
