IC008 Muslin Blue Softened - 100% Cotton Fabric - Very Light (2.8 oz/yd2) - 1.00 Yard, Width 59"
This particular fabric is Light Blue and a great base to other designs.
Complimenting colors and motifs are interchangeable, which allows you to create entire collections: bedding and apparel alike.
Timeless designs that will remind you of cherished childhood memories and inspire you to create items for your family that they will pass on to the next generation.
Weighing a mere 2.8 ounces a square yard, this 59 inches wide MUSLIN fabric is as light and airy as a feather. Essentially, this cloth is two very fine cotton fabric layers that are joined together by interweaving. This process creates little pockets of space and air that are left in between the two layers making the overall cloth very light, soft, breathable, and voluminous without becoming heavy.
This MUSLIN cloth, which is both lightweight and durable, will be a welcome addition to your sewing room. A must-have for delicate items that need a bit more substance such as baby swaddles and slings, baby bedding, toddler garments, lounge apparel, and home textiles.
Our collection received rigorous Oeko-Tex certification and is a part of the BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) - ensuring that these items are biodegradable, recyclable, and free of harmful toxins or irritants (good for your family and good for the planet). F|S Exclusive designs.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Customer Questions and Answers
Would this fabric work as a lining for patchworked 019 trousers?
We recommend either our IL020 lightweight linen or for a cotton, or Percale fabric. This fabric is textured after washing and not suitable as a lining.
How wide is the cotton muslin?
59" wide.
I'm wondering how this fabric could be used for baby blankets. Could it be backed with fleece, linen, waffle weave, ? ? ? Since it's so lightweight I can't quite think how it could best be used for blankets, and other baby items as well. Any ideas, suggestions ?
Is this fabric very sheer? I wanted a pale pastel to make a summer dress. I could always line the dress. Thank you.
This fabric is a little sheer, and may diminish slightly when washed and the fabric gains it texture. You may like a lining if you tend to prefer one on slightly sheer fabrics.
How would it be finished along the top & sides for a baby blanket ?
A standard double folded hem is ideal for this fabric. The length of your hem is completely up to you and your design.
Does it pucker when washed?
Yes just a little, but you always can iron the fabric
