This is a 19" wide canvas weight cloth.

Woven out of thick, short staple, linen thread - this fabric is made to scrunch up after the wash and dry. It shrinks about 18% on the weft of the fabric ( widthwise) and 16% of the warp of the fabric ( lengthwise). This gives it the needed density for home textiles.

At a canvas weight of 9.1 ounces a square yard this 100% linen is a fabulous utilitarian fabric that you will love for its simple rustic beauty and strength. Items made from this fabric will wear like iron and last decades.

Yarn Dyed fabrics are made using threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a large variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color.

Narrow width cloth is great for:

  • Purses
  • Placemats

This is wonderful linen canvas!

I was not disappointed at all and have purchased other colored stripes of the same fabric.

THE perfect towel!

I'm giving sets of this towels to several kitchens this holiday season. Rather than twill tape, I made a generous buttonhole on the long side for hanging the towel.

Expecting Too Much?

The linen was easy to cut and finish for three towels and they looked great until I washed them. Now they are a wrinkly mess which means that I will have to iron them. I generally do not have to iron my dish towels which are cotton. Maybe I should have line dried them.

Don't be too quick to judge this linen.

I love these for kitchen towels. They do take a while to soften up but they are still very enjoyable to use. It also works great for pot holders with a layer of cotton batting. For dishtowels, I get a lighter weight plain fabric.

Too stiff!

Wanted linen for drying dishes but this fabric is still too stiff after more than 7 washings . I will continue to wash in hopes the stiffness will disappear. However I was expecting the shrinking.

I love these towels. For those unhappy folks, the first wash and dry will shrink the towel and, yes, leave them balled up and wrinkled. Iron with steam. Next washing or two, hang to dry. As the linen softens with use and laundering, it will finish beautifully from the dryer.
