linen echoes the tranquillity of Jonas Wood's art in a muted grey tone, speaking of
half-lit interiors and daylight muffled by a blanket of cloud.
At a lighter weight of 3.5 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is woven with finer threads to give it a smoother appearance. Referred to as lightweight or handkerchief linen, this fine, but surprisingly sturdy linen brings new meaning to the term "sheer elegance".
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

If you are looking for tonal shades then the grey whisper would be the better contrasting shade as Peyote has a beige note to it.
Does grey whisper lean towards white or brown? It looks different on all my screens. Thank you.

Would this weight fabric work well for sashing in a sampler quilt?

This weight has been used for quilts but we would recommend ordering a yard or sample to make sure the lightweight linen will work well with the fabric used for the blocks.
I have been buying linen from the fabric store for a long time. This fabric is soft with a lovely hand. I am using it to two layered pillow covers.
Love the soft grey color and the nice weight of the fabric. Making straight leg pants to wear with a tunic. Have purchased linen fabric of different weights and have always have success with the ease of sewing with linen and wearing linen. Always been happy with the quality.
I am making a guayabara (Mexican shirt) of this fabric for my spouse. I love this fabric! Soft, beautiful hand and even color. It is a joy to cut and sew, and it accepts embroidery and other embellishments very well. Fabric-Store: more and more colors, please!!

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
