Our regal Royal Purple still shines as a slightly faded more relaxed version of our classic color. The deep, inky tone of ROYAL PURPLE linen has the warm intensity of a dwindling sunset as the light fades into shadow. This time of day was a favorite with painter Paul Signac, who saw deep purple tones in the shadows around him as the golden sun of his native France began to sink downwards to the ground.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 59 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.
As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

I bought three yards of this a few months ago and I used it as a throw on my bed. Last week I made it into a robe, using the free pattern. The signature finish is incredibly soft and makes the best robe ever.
I've bought a lot of linen from here before, it's always great quality and you can't get colors as vibrant anywhere else. I usually go for heavy linens because of what I like to make, but wanted to branch out a little and bought some lights and middles. This signature finish really stands out. It is the softest linen I've ever felt, even compared to the light weight. I will definitely be buying the signature finish only when I want to make apparel. I just cannot get over how soft it is.

I made New Look 6598 button-up shirt, view D, with this beautiful linen. The linen is a clear purple, not bright, not murky. It's a nice mid-weight with good drape. I pre-washed the yardage in hot water and dried it in the dryer and it came out perfect and very soft. It sews like a dream, and it was even easy to make buttonholes using a lightweight interfacing. Great fabric at an incredible price.

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
