Jacquard cloths are created by weaving different color threads to create intricate patterns - or paintings that are woven with thread. These are harder to weave and are considered an "heirloom" fabric due to the craftsmanship involved in their creation.

This fabric is super fun to work with - making every project look like a work of art.  The trick? Just throw it in the wash!

When you receive it  - the cloth will be 65 inches wide, flat, and 2-dimensional. After the wash and dry - the design will "lift up" giving the fabric a 3 dimensional appearance.

In order for the fabric to "lift up" it is woven in a way that when it is washed and dried - it will shrink more than plain weave linen giving it the volume needed to be 3 dimensional. This cloth you can expect 18% shrinkage weft (width of the fabric); and 16% warp (length of the fabric). Shrinkage is based on a warm wash and low-heat dry.

So Easy to prepare. So lovely to use

I bought a yard of Safari because to the tutorial on making guest towels. My project was hand towels for my kitchen. When the fabric arrived, it went directly to the washer and dryer. A natural fringe was formed on the cut ends. By removing the selvage and cutting the piece into 4 equal rectangles, washing and drying once more, the only thing left to do was trim the raveled threads and stitch on a little tape loop on each for hanging. Project finished. Total construction time--less than an hour. They are Super Handsome in my kitchen with light counters, light wood cabinets and stainless appliances. Thank you. Thinking of making a little wrap skirt from this for summer to wear with a cream linen shirt.

Beautiful

I have made couch throws using this fabric. My daughter LOVED the beauty, comfort, and texture...so one of the throws now lives in her home. I am planning on making more for Christmas gifts. They will be a beautiful and very useful gift.

Great linen

I have used every fabric in this collection except Tetra and they are all excellent. Extremely pleased with all the items I made for my home and for gift giving. However, not many people appreciate the value and benefits of natural fiber.

I made a reversible jacket with pockets and trimmed it with the striped linen you have that was left over from a striped dress I made.

I love this fabric. However, it took 2 washings and use of the steam iron to to get the "raised" look I was happy with before I started my cutting process. I used the Hong Kong seam process on the jacket with IL019 MIX NATURAL Softened and also for my ties. This will also be used for the coordinating pants and top.
