glorious, sun glazed terracotta.
At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Would this weight of fabric work for napkins?

Yes, this fabric works for napkins. The weight is similar to a special occasion napkin, rather than a casual one. For casual napkins, please see our IL019 medium weight linen.
Is this weight heavy enough for lined drapery?

We encourage you to get a sample to get a feel for this fabric yourself. But this fabric is a heavyweight fabric, so adding a backing will make a quite substantial drape.

I am learning to sew this year and have fallen in love with linen. I decided to make cross backed aprons for family for the holidays and this came out beautifully.
Purchased this fabric for decorator throw pillows. The texture creates a "high end" look to the throw pillows. The terra cotta color is a perfect match to my slip cover. Couldn't be happier.
I chose the 4C22 heavyweight weight linen in Sanguine for this project. The heavyweight 7.1 oz linen is a long-time favorite fabric of mine for garments. The fabric is breathable for daytime use and has enough thickness to provide substantial layering at night. I use this fabric for tops, pants, and dresses.
The Akira collection consists of two garments, a cardigan or top and a pair of pants or capris. After mulling over which ones I wanted to make, I decided on cutting a pair of capris and the belted top. The effortless design of the pieces makes each one of them totally wearable and very easy to match with other pieces in my wardrobe.

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
