Customer Questions and Answers
Hi. I downloaded the trapeze dress pattern and want to purchase pink linen for it but I do not see the yardage or anyvsize info in my download. Also, it seems the fabric can only be bought in hole yards. If a pattern calls for 2.5 yards, do we have to order 3?
Can these patterns be printed in one A0 or A1 size sheet rather than 20 A4 pages ?
I'm sorry, our free patterns are only available in A4/Letter format.
I've made a lot of dresses from this pattern but my friend wants one with a cold shoulder sleeve. Any recommendations for me? Thank you for your help and advice.

How do you get the 0/2 size?
Our apologies, this dress' smallest size is a 4/6
How do I get the PDF in AO or Copy Ready format?
Our free patterns are only available in A4/Letter size at this time.
I am having trouble printing this the correct size. I have changed paper size, printed at 100% but it still doesn't turn out to be the right size. My test square always measures bigger than 2". Any other suggestions?
Hello, One issue we encounter is that the paper registered in your tray doesn't match what you printer is reading in the settings. Check this and make sure these match up. Otherwise, we always recommend "centered" and 100% or "actual size" as the settings needed to print the patterns. if these are still not working for you, please contact your printer manufacturer.
I'm looking forward to making this lovely dress, but can't find any instructions. Where are they?
The instructions are located on our blog, The Thread. Simply go to blog.fabrics-store.com and search "Mona" in the search box.
How do you know how much fabric to buy? Thanks
Hello, Our designer recommends 2.5 yards
CAN I JUST BUY A PATTERN NO WAY TO PRINT AFTER I DOWNLOAD
Hello, Our free patterns are only available as digital downloads which you can print at home or take to your local library or printer for printing. We have a growing selection of premium patterns for purchase which come pre-printed for you.
You can expect to size up for this pattern. Neckline is high and can feel a bit uncomfortable as drawn.
It says no instructions included, but I see one reviewer mentioned 'easy to follow instructions'. I don't see any in the printable I've downloaded. Can anyone offer information on this please? Thank you!
Good afternoon and thank you for your inquiry. Most of our free PDF patterns come with a sewing tutorial on our blog. Here is the tutorial for this dress: blog.fabrics-store.com/2016/09/27/mona-trapeze-linen-dress-pattern-tutorial/ And please email us if you have any questions. Have a great day!
I can't seem to find the yardage requirements for this dress.
Hello, This is one of our older free patterns which didn't list yardage. We are in the process of updating these patterns to include this information. In the meantime, you can assemble your pattern pieces and lay them out on a flat surface according to the width of your fabric. Next, measure the length that the patterns take up to find your yardage requirement. We used 2.5 yards for the smallest size.
I have downloaded the pattern and would like to sew this dress but I wonder if the sizes are correct? The seem very small to me. Normally I use a size 14 but in this case I would have to use a size 20/22 according to the finished garment bust measurement?
Hello, sizing across pattern companies and all clothing brands differ since there isn't a standardized size system. We recommend choosing your size based on the body and finished garment measurements. Our patterns are also drafted for a B-cup up to a size 16, so you may like to do a full bust adjustment if your cup size differs. Please email us if you'd like assistance doing this or for choosing a size :)
I consider myself still a beginner. I've made a few things but sometimes feel I have more misses than hits. This pattern is definitely a hit! I made 2 dresses in 2 days. The first I made w/ a cotton linen blend which turned out well but the fabric was a bit stiff and the neck line felt a bit too high for me. The second I made in mid weight 100% linen in a gorgeous storm cloud blue gray and lowered the neck line by 1 inch. Perfection! The instructions are complete and easy to follow and I even learned a new technique with the bias binding on the neck and arm holes.
