Customer Questions and Answers
Something does not seem right. My collar does not match, it is much longer to attache. I saw the tutoriel for it as well as the buttonband, I mesured all, everything is as it should be, it is so frustrating
I opened the pattern in Adome reader but I can't find the options to show the attachments to view the tutorial. Do I need the pro version to do that?
You can find the tutorial on our blog here. No need to use Adobe. blog.fabrics-store.com/2019/05/28/tailored-linen-shirt-tutorial/
Holaa, tengo una duda, el patrón cuenta con cm de costura o hay que añadirlo?
Hello all of the patterns on our site include seam allowance.
This pattern is great, only the sleeves are a bit tight for some reason and my arms are not particularly big. I have done a lot of sewing and mostly avoided sleeves with plackets, but your instructions for those were so easy to follow! Thank you :)
I downloaded the pattern file, however it only includes pattern information!
Hi! They are included as an attached file to the main PDF file you are opening. You would open the PDF with Adobe Reader. In the Adobe reader menu click View - Show/Hide - Navigation Panes - Attachments. Adobe pops open a side panel with the attached file which are the pattern pieces you'd print. I am sending you an email with the steps right now. Have a great day.
Hi I've managed to download the pattern without problem. 2 Questions: 1) Where is tutorial for this shirt? The "CLICK HERE" link leads to an Error Page unfortunately. 2) Would this pattern work for a man as well ?
Hi! Thank you for letting us know the link inside the PDF wasn't working. Here is the correct link blog.fabrics-store.com/2019/05/28/tailored-linen-shirt-tutorial/ And we will fix the link in the PDF shortly. As far as altering the pattern to fit a man - please email Catina ( the pattern drafter) at ask fabrics-store.com :)
Thank you, Oksana for emailing the Genia shirt file to me. The file opened immediately when I followed the directions for Adobe. I was able to print only the sizes I needed. Surely, I will write again when I get the shirt sewn. Thank you again. Barbara
I made the Jade relaxed shirt which follows a few different tutorials like the mandarin collar, cuffs, and a yoke back. The pattern is found on the blog and is free. I liked the pattern, but with 10" ease and being short, I would take up the back length and in on sides a bit. Over all, nice shirt. The mandarin collar was the hardest as the front needs to be exact or it tapers a bit down. Would recommend tutorials using light colored fabrics to see stitching; I used a print linen and machine embroidery
Such a nice versatile pattern! I made myself a shirt and was pleased with it - the clear instructions, the sizing, ease of stitching - everything! I now want to make this for my husband (for his birthday) - the style seems quite unisex to me - so is there any guidance on sizes particularly? He wears UK size 36-38; what would that translate to in US sizing in the Genia pattern? I'd appreciate any help please! (i will make sure the button band goes on left :) )
