At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.
As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

This is one of my favorite colors in the collection and one I am looking forward to adding to my wardrobe! It hits the perfect spot between rose and terracotta, for when you want the warmth of a red mingled with an earthier undertone, but not the brightness or oversaturation of a true red, and not a pink. I shared a picture of the fabric I had gotten to a friend and she loves the color too!
I was afraid that English Rose had been discontinued. It is such a unusual color - red/orange/pink. And the signature finish makes it soft and drapy right out of the package. I plan to make my old standby Merchant and Mills Saltmarsh skirt. A few years ago I made a top using English Rose regular finish. It looks bright and cheerful without being overpowering. I will say that I have never seen a rose quite this color.
I love this color! (English Rose). It exceeded my expectations insofar as looking exactly like the photo. The signature finish is my favorite b/c it drapes so nicely, is easy to sew with, and gets softer with each washing. I made a classic shirt dress out of this one because I always love these when I try them on in stores except that 1) they usually have a lot of extra unnecessary stuff on them like belts and breast pockets with pleats, so I was happy to make my own simplified version, 2) the proportions are usually not suited to my body shape, 3) the color choices are often limited, and 4) anytime I find a decent one I like, the price is prohibitive. This fabric provides the BEST solution to all those issues for me. I'm so excited to make more things with this color and to make more dresses like this one with other colors.
I made a dress for my daughter with the Nettle Dress pattern from Etsy. The English rose fabric turned out lovely! It's a perfect reddish-pink that feels both classic and cherry.

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
