IL020 Handkerchief Passion Plum Softened - 100% Linen Fabric - Light (3.7 oz/yd2), Width 58"
At a lighter weight of 3.5 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is woven with finer threads to give it a smoother appearance. Referred to as lightweight or handkerchief linen, this fine, but surprisingly sturdy linen brings new meaning to the term "sheer elegance".
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

This is a fabulous color, really nice weight for a summer blouse. Easy to work with, fabric finish very uniform, with no flaws to work around. Buy this if you like a warm purple, not in the blueish end of purple at all.
This is very, very purple it is an incredibly vibrant color. I am not complaining in the least, and once I'm done with this project I am very looking forward to how well it will take gold paint. Like all the linens here good quality easy to work with and doesn't bleed when washed. I would ask that you start to carry linen thread as well so I and sew with the same material.
I love the softness and touch of this material, but the purple is so bright I don't know what to use it for now. It is too bright as a blouse. I will try it as a skirt, but I was looking forward to making a tunic out of it. Lesson learned.
The quality of the fabric is fine, but the color really isn't at all like the online swatch. I wanted a handkerchief weight linen similar to the Wildcherry. Based on the online images, they looked very close, with the Passion Plum being slightly lighter. In person, the Passion Plum is noticeably bluer than Wildcherry. Think more Barney than berry.
This fabric is very much like the picture and is one of my favorite colors of all time. The texture was beautiful, falling with grace and soft to the touch.
The color is different from the swatch but it's still beautiful! I made this dress (Butterick "Fast and Easy" #5637) and have nothing but compliments for it!

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
