IL019 MEADOW Softened - 100% Linen - Middle (5.3 oz/yd2)
Hovering somewhere between green, blue and soft grey, MEADOW linen
has a mysterious ambiguity, like misty fog gathering over a salty sea.
In French Impressionist Claude Monet's hand this color was transformed into flickering patches of cold, airy morning light or a smoggy,
enveloping haze. The mutable, changeable nature of this color reflected
Monet's fascination with the fleeting nature of space and atmosphere.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces, this 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

Beautiful fabric which I'm going to make into a blouse. Since I've used Fabric Store Linen before I know it will be great to wear.
This linen is beautiful!, the perfect color of aqua. It came pretty much as pictured, but in some lights is more blue, others more green. I made a duvet and pillows. The fabric itself was easy to sew and serged beautifully as well. Love it!
All linens are not created equal. Fabrics-Store linen is one of superior quality. Great purchase.
Lovely color. Soft beautiful fabric. I'm making the Loren dress out of it.
I bought this to make my Joie de Vie pattern. I love the color so much, I will buy more! bmannbybridget on Etsy.
I wasn't sure if this color or "Dove" or would work best for a client project so I ordered a bit of both. This shade is the darker version of Dove which means they compliment each other perfectly & work great for creating monochromatic schemes. The linen itself is a quality mid-weight linen with beautiful drape, consistent dye saturation throughout the length, & average shrinkage after wash/dry. That being said I'd recommend ordering an extra 10-20% more than you need since dye verification isn't possible & shrinkage will depend on manufacturing.
This is gorgeous fabric, as is all the linen on this dangerously addictive site. But my computer monitor showed it as more blue. It is actually a soft, light green. So I am going to send it back and choose something a little more wild Wisteria maybe? To make a cross back apron.
I purchased the Willow and Asphalt and together they are delicious. They are also neutral enough to be worn with many other shades. Quality, as always, is excellent. This fabric is the perfect weight for year round wear here in Florida.
This linen is so beautiful. I love the soft green color. I plan on making a small tablecloth when I get my sewing machine back from the repair shop.
I was so excited to get this linen. Its my first go at linen fabrics and i was a little sad it didnt feel very soft straight out of the package but once washed oh wow it got soft. I suspect manufacturing process made it stiff and a little rough. So dont be scared! Give it a wash and itll fix right up. The color is beautiful and accurate to the swatch shown on my monitor, it is perhaps a little lighter but same color however my monitor is set darker than most so thats probably why. Its perfect!
I bought enough of this fabric to make a dress and a top. I absolutely love the color, and the linen is a perfect weight and is very easy to work with.
This is the fabric used for my wedding dress, and several other re-enactment dresses that I wear. It is probably my favorite color of linen... its such a gorgeous, pale blue. With hints of aqua, but not overwhelming, and warm enough that it wont make your skin look sallow (well for most people I would imagine!). I absolutely LOVE this linen!!!
Love this color. I would say that this color is close to being a seafoam green. Though it does have a bit of blue undertones. This will go with almost any of the neutral linens. l'm totally focused on linen right now. I've bought 12 shades of linen. Light weight and medium. Ok, now onto my next linen project! Happy Sewing!
Well l made my dress finally with this amazing fabric and l am in love. This dress is an original pattern from 1950's. I purchased it in lightweight.
Made a Tina Givens jacket and skirt with this beautiful linen and as always they turned out great. I love your linen, the colors and quality can not be beat! If you need matching threads, I suggest the online store Connecting Threads, I have always been able to find a thread that matches there.
This color is beautiful, we would call it an aqua, it matches our aqua and white project perfectly. Love the feel and the drape of this fabric. We are experimenting with weights at present. This weave is not what we would call a completely dense and so it is perfect for our clothing as well as the home dec duvet we are making. This is a wonderful weave for quilting and embroidery. Thank you.
I had been wanting of try this color for awhile so when it came on sale I grabbed it. It's everything I expected it to be! Beautiful color and of course the quality is great, as I have come to expect from you. I am truly addicted to your linen, it's all I sew with now!
I received this beautiful fabric and it is true to it's colour but also had a lovely feel to it. I have not made my vintage dress from a original vintage pattern. But once l have l will add it here for you all to see.
Very easy to work with. I made bath sheets and hand towels. They are very absorbent and look great!
IL019 is my choice for almost everything except slipcovers. It has such a crisp body. IL019 Meadow was the first fabric I used for clothing. I'm in love with this color. It is neither aqua nor turquoise - just the softest in-between. I made a bias cut mid-calf a-line skirt. It has the most wonderful drape. This time I'm back for more for a bias sleeveless dress. It's terrific knowing beforehand how well an item will turn out. My thanks to the Fabric-Store for offering such a wide choice of colors and weights.
very nice pastel green/ blue aqua or pastel teal... great for drawstring pants and tunics or covers for your pillows and bedding.. looks nice with the "sphinx" which is a dark teal green
I read a previous review of this color where someone posted that it was sort of an aqua color. That's just what I was hoping and that is just what I got. It makes me think of sea glass. Not sure what I will make from this gorgeous linen, but whatever I make it will be in my suitcase when I head for the beach.
As an experiment I ordered a Doggie Bag scrap of this with other material. I also got a scrap of Fog Green. One of those happy accidents. When Meadow landed next to Fog Green they looked so lovely together! I'm careful about cooler colors because they don't work so well on me, but this looked delicious. But I didn't have much. I ended up using large scraps of white gauze to make a tunic shirt but with all the pockets, yoke, neck band and collar parts in the two accent colors. I always get compliments on it, whether I wear it as a shirt jacket or a blouse. One of these days I'll take a photo and add it to the review!
I made a bedspread out of the meadow and combined it with one of the lighter linens called cornsilk. Loved working with the linen. I am not a seamstress but I think it turned out better than I expected. I love linen. The meadow is a beautiful light sky blue. Really pretty. Love this site and will buy more linen.
I'm a frequent shopper here and once again, the linen is beautiful. So easy to work with and the customer loves her new vintage style dress. The color tile is a bit more blue - the true color is more of a sea green/pale aqua - and it's just gorgeous.
I had seen this same color linen at a local fabric store for more than $25 a yard - loved the color, not that price. When I found the same color at Fabrics-store.com, I bought it. The dining room drapes made with this Meadow linen are lovely (despite the fact that the drape maker had serious concerns about its softness and stretchiness), but we did line them. The only reason I gave the fabric a 4 is because I am not sure I will be able to have them dry cleaned without them coming back a totally different size because of this softness.
This particular color is more slubby than other colors of the IL019 that I have ordered, and the color is a pale gray green, still a lovey color and will make a beautiful Regency styled dress.
Love this color, it's one of my favorites! I made a couple of summer dresses for myself. The one in the photo is a nightdress (or, it could easily be worn as a breezy summer dress) that I posted at my Etsy shop. I use linen from this shop for most of my listing.
