Fresh, cool air seems to radiate through French painter Robert Delaunay’s art, conveyed with luminous pastel lavender-grey shades like FRENCH LILAC.

A Parisian through and through, Delaunay dedicated much of his life to painting the city of lights as it transformed into an urban mecca before his eyes, shifting from a small city to into a place of brimming excitement and anticipation. The pastel colors he chose further emphasized this transient spirit, trembling with the ephemeral fragility of the Parisian air.

A finer quality 5.3 ounce medium weight 58 inch wide 100% linen that is woven with finer threads, and an increased thread count. The higher thread count makes 1C64 shrink less and gives this linen a very smooth and luxurious look and feel, earning it the moniker "luxury linen".

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Can you show us in photos as well as in type which one specific linen is best for sewing up some everyday bedsheets..even if I have to sew them down the middle to fit my queen-size bed. A tutorial maybe? I get very confused by the different weights of linen, and I have no clue which would be best (even part cotton is ok). Help! Thanks, Deb :-)

:) Happy to help. IL019 Medium-weight linen is a great in-between for sheets - not too heavy, not too light. If you click on the patterns tab at the top menu and go to page 5, you will find patterns and instructions for making bedsheets and pillowcases ( I can't post photos here). You can also email us if you have any questions. Have a great day!

What laundering method is suggested for this linen and will that be the same for sheets as well as clothing?

Lovely Color

I would not call this gray. It is a deep toned, subdued lilac. Just beautiful!

Pintucked Sheets

I made 4 sets of sheets with this linen for Christmas gifts. I added a header with 5-row pintucks on top sheets and pillow cases. They are gorgeous and improve with each washing. I used to be a high-count, all cotton fanatic, but no more. Linen sheets are the best!

The color of the swatch on my monitor is a lovely lilac. The fabric I got is gray. :(

this dress is really an ode to the sewing community I've found myself in. I am constantly impressed and amazed at what this lovely sewing community creates and every so often, I can't help but try and recreate something someone else has made, with my own little flair of course. Anna had set her mind on making a pinafore wrap linen dress and was so generous to share her process of self-drafting the piece. I could not stop going back to her posts about working out the construction and fit details and I knew I wanted to try and make my own version.

This photo does not properly reflect the color. The jeans should look like a silvery washed out grey. The top is a very subtle pastel marriage between grey and lilac. It's beautiful. With two yards of this fabric, I have made a pair of capri-length pants based off Simplicity 1887 and this top based on Simplicity 9271. I added the cap sleeves and finished the inside with French seams and bias seam binding. The sleeves have a rolled hem courtesy of my mother's Singer Featherweight.

This is the most beautiful shade of gray with a lavender tint. It looks amazing next to Wisteria, and it's my favorite gray on this site. But it definitely isn't the lovely lilac color the website displays, which makes me sad. Fabrics-store, please please keep this lovely gray with an accurate picture and add a 1C64 that matches the gorgeous lilac color on the website swatch - they'd go together so beautifully!
