America's sublime wilderness during the mid-19th century, before industrialization took over, invoking the unstoppable force of this
overwhelmingly vast terrain.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.
As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

Will this shade be coming back? Or the Nine Iron in IC64? Is there any way to know which shades might be coming back and which ones are sold out for good without having to ask about each one?

Please check back with us after August to see when/if we are going to be receiving this color back in the IL019 Signature finish , we do have the softened in stock if needed. At this time we recommend emailing us a list of colors you would like us to look in to for you.
Not sure yet what i will make. I bought 2 doggy bags of this and i prewashed and dried as would do for my clothes. Colorfast and buttery soft.
I made a dress out of this in just a couple of hours yesterday afternoon. It simply wants to be sewn into beautiful things. The signature finish makes the fabric feel like it has been your favorite for years, and (even after being shoved in a backpack for airline travel) wrinkles relax out into softness after a few minutes of wear. This color is really marvelous. It is a soft, deep grey, like calligraphy ink with a bit of water on a zen painting.
I made new sheets for our bed that compliments our blanket and quilt. After several pre-washes I hemmed both raw edges and kept the selvages intact at the sides. It's getting softer with use and I expect it will get even softer as it gets used and washed. I have this linen in a different color that I made into a nightgown and I love it.

This weight pleats and swishes for the skirt and with two layers the bodice has perfect structure. I love sewing this and it irons beautiful but can also come out of the dryer a little damp and hang to look fairly nice without.
Here is a close up to show the texture and color of Nine Iron linen. This was taken outside in an overcast day. It is just the right fabric for a garment to wear for years. The color is restful, and luxurious.

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
