A very Dark Navy and Natural color combination. Close up image shows fabric texture and shrinkage after a wash.

This is a 19" wide canvas weight cloth.

Woven out of thick, short staple, linen thread - this fabric is made to scrunch up after the wash and dry. It shrinks about 18% on the weft of the fabric ( widthwise) and 16% of the warp of the fabric ( lengthwise). This gives it the needed density for home textiles.

At a canvas weight of 9.1 ounces a square yard this 100% linen is a fabulous utilitarian fabric that you will love for its simple rustic beauty and strength. Items made from this fabric will wear like iron and last decades.

Yarn Dyed fabrics are made using threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a large variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color.

Narrow width cloth is great for:

  • Shopping bags
  • Purses
  • Placemats
  • Runners
  • Decorative pillows
  • Kitchen towels
  • Appliance covers
  • Potholders
  • Cushions

Here’s the secret...

I absolutely love the tree kitchen towels I made from this fabric! They're hardworking, they dry surfaces more quickly than any other towel we've tried, and I'm totally taken with their rugged good looks. I like them so much that I want to make some for family and friends, but... these towels are a hot mess when they come out of the dryer! I was ironing mine, but I know many of my friends don't even own an iron, and even those that do probably wouldn't keep one at the ready for the occasional kitchen towel! So I started experimenting, and found a way to keep these towels looking presentable without an iron. The secret is to stretch them when they come out of the washer, and then hang them to dry! Just give them a few tugs width-wise - more if you like - and line dry them. They'll look just as good as if you had ironed them.

Color not specified.

Love the fabric, but disappointed the darker weft of the stripe was in blue not black as it appears in the picture on line.

What I was looking for....

It surely didn't take very long to produce the linen tea towels with this fabric ! After washing to soften and shrink, I just cut it to the length that I wanted, used my serger to finish the cut edges and voila, some beautiful tea towels! They dry everything as in a dream ! Delivery was great. Will be ordering again soon. Mary

Absorbent

Love this fabric. I washed and dried it three times to soften and it makes wonderfully absorbent towels. After it softens it hangs nicely on the towel bar.
