This is a 19" wide canvas weight cloth.

Woven out of thick, short staple, linen thread - this fabric is made to scrunch up after the wash and dry. It shrinks about 18% on the weft of the fabric ( widthwise) and 16% of the warp of the fabric ( lengthwise). This gives it the needed density for home textiles.

At a canvas weight of 9.1 ounces a square yard this 100% linen is a fabulous utilitarian fabric that you will love for its simple rustic beauty and strength. Items made from this fabric will wear like iron and last decades.

Yarn Dyed fabrics are made using threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a large variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color.

Narrow width cloth is great for:

  • Shopping bags
  • Purses
  • Placemats
  • Runners
  • Decorative pillows
  • Kitchen towels
  • Appliance covers
  • Potholders
  • Cushions

Customers love this

I wish more would come in stock, makes great tea towels. Customers see them at a local B&B and come looking for them.

not what I wanted

it is good material, however I wanted dishcloth material, and this is way to stiff. I was sad when I got it. not sure what I need for dish towels

Beautiful and Excellent!

Beautiful Linen! Many uses and my Favorite Tea Towels! The Natural Fiber Texture cleans my hands while cooking, slurps up spills, and wipes the Granite Countertop squeaky clean! I wash in cold water, remove from dryer while slightly damp. Pull out from side to side, top to bottom, with my hands, and hang. I sew a stay-stitch half inch from edge, on both ends before washing. Makes natural fringe. And leave the selvage. Have given as Gifts, everyone loves them! Very Beautiful!

Nope

I was so excited when this fabric arrived. I had wanted new table runners and I enjoy sewing my own over purchasing ready-made. I followed the directions I received in a Fabrics-store email to the letter but the result was disappointing. There was more shrinkage than stated which means the runners aren't long enough. Sad because I had an extra 1/3 yd that I cut off to follow the directions in figuring the length needed. ***No smell after laundering with a gentle detergent.

Soft, DURABLE, so nice to touch

I have now replaced all of my kitchen towels with IL073 in various color patterns, but the solid natural remains my favorite. I really wish it were offered in a wider width too, as I would love to make a jeans-style jacket from it. I am inspired by another reviewer who made a basic top by adding a seam at center front and back--Ill be trying that also. Don't be discouraged by negative reviews about the 'odor'--it smells a bit like dried hay out of the box, but after the first wash, the scent is gone. And I've NEVER ironed it. After a couple of washes, it is soft and supple. Easily one of my favorite fabrics here. I have kitchen towels that are several years old, and show no wear at all.

I made 3 kitchen towels with loops using IL073 (mix natural, thin teal stripes, brown stripes). The finished and washed towels were approximately 25 inches in length and 16.5 inches in width. My friend uses these for drying dishes and wiping hands.

My showcase in Waynesville, NC at the Wildflour Blue Bakery. I just set up this morning. These items will be there until July 14, or until I run out of inventory. I made the napkin rings, too, but not with your products.

People have written that this bumpy linen isn't suitable for clothing. I beg to differ. I washed and dried the linen twice and then pressed it as near to flat as I could get it. Using a boxy top pattern a size larger than usual and adding center front and back seams, I cut out the pattern and sewed it together, using a lighter weight linen for the sleeve cuffs. Then I washed and dried it again, took it out of the drier looking as in the photo, and I left it that way. I love the unusual texture and may try a pair of summer pants, if I can figure out how to deal with the 19" width.

Loved this fabric! Bought 8 yards. Upon arrival I serged the two cut ends. Washed twice & lightly damp dried. Pressed flat again and folded the fabric in half, and half again and so on to get 8 evenly sized towels. Pulled a thread at each fold to be sure to cut on grain. Double folded 1/4" on the two cut ends of each towel for hem. On one end I added a 4" bias tape loop (folded in half) made from leftover medium weight linen same color from a previous project. Placed the folded loop 2" from the side edge of towel tucked under the hem before stitching, back stitched over for added security. Pressed all seams one final time. Am in LUV with these! Will DEF make more!

Loved the linen toweling. So easy to use. Cut the length to 36 inches, Sewed a small hem then washed the item. Works great for drying dishes. Also embroidered a design on some of the plain linen and it came out great. Design by Designs by Juju. Attached is a picture of the finished product.
