Andy Warhol loved red. From high heeled shoes to blooming flowers and
celebrity portraits, shades of blazing fire lit up his iconic artworks
and made them pop. The pink crimson of Firecracker Red linen was one of
his favourites, appearing as inky, infused washes, bloodshot stains and
patches of flat pattern, a colour that could celebrate decadent power as
much as the darker side of life.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 59 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Customer Questions and Answers
I served the ends, washed in cold water with a color catcher and dryed on normal. There was some color on the catcher and the material remains soft and lightly wrinkled. I ordered 4 yds and just measured and still have 4 yds after washing and drying. I will be using to create an altar cloth and veil. Nice drape and wonderful color for Reformation Sunday as well as Pentecost.

I LoVe Linen and yours is unbeatable. Yes, it takes a little more care but it's well worth it. I wash cold water and dry on a cool dryer. Iron as needed and always feel cool and crisp. I get compliments and always give referrals as I know nowhere else to buy linen as well priced and as durable as yours.
This fabric made a great dress. The weight is heavy enough not to need a lining on the full skirt, but feels light and soft. I would describe the color as being more on the blue side than orange. Maybe kind of a pinkish red. I can take it out of the dryer and wear it without ironing, for a casual look. Ironing imparts a more crisp, dressy look. I prewashed in warm and dried it twice before cutting. Yes, there is plenty of lint in the first couple of washes. I don't object to this. That's what linen does.
Was there a crimson tide when washed, and did the fabric fade?
Enjoyed using this fabric for my first real garment project, the Hinterland dress by Sew Liberated. I love this dress and wear it a lot. People complement the bright often! Red is always in, isn't it?
I am crazy for a good dress. Especially one with buttons going down along the front. The Loren pattern is going to be a fave in my closet. When I received it the first thing I did was pull out all my vintage buttons to put against the beautiful Firecracker Red linen I got.
Although "this" photo looks distorted?? This client and I designed this 3 pc. Outfit. She is Very attached to RED, so when I showed her the quality of the fabric and this awesome color! (actually looks better when not squished)

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
