The cold, blue silence of BLUE BONNET Linen hovers like a thick mist through Edvard Munch's paintings, investing his artworks with a mysterious, pervading ennui. Munch's Expressionist and Symbolist drawings, paintings and prints captured the changing spirit of the early 20th century.
Quiet, understated blues allowed Munch to convey this shadowy world of the unknown, so filled with anticipation and intrigue, as his solemn figures gaze hopefully and fearfully towards the future.

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 59 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Your customer Cindy posted a picture front and back of Riva in Blue Bonnet. I've missed the sale, but I wondered if you can tell me how much fabric I would need to order. Thanks for your assistance. Mary Syron mary.syronatt.net

Eva Dress from Tessuti fabrics

I used 2 yards to make this in size medium. I washed in cold water and machine dried twice before cutting it out. I overlocked the raw edges before washing. This is a simple pattern with no buttons or zippers. The linen drapes well and stands away from the body, perfect for those hot, humid days.

Sue profile image washes up beautifully

Can't wait to get started with this fabric. It washes up beautifully - cold water/handwash cycle. Then I popped it in the dryer on extra low. It's just lovely. Can't wait to lay out the pattern and get started. This weekend's project!

All three are gorgeous shades.

Riva back by Cindy

Cindy • July 12, 2022

I bought Bluebonnet on sale in doggie bag and made the sleeves less version of the Riva pattern. I shorten the back and the fit is perfect! This fabric is a beautiful color and has a really nice drape! Glad I gave it a chance!

"Eva Dress" from Tessuti fabrics, Australia

Regina • June 26, 2022

I used this linen (IL019 BLUE BONNET), along with 4C22 DRIED HERB for contrast trim to make up my attempts at a 16th Century German Trossfrau kit. (IL019 BLEACHED and IL095 NATURAL canvas were also used for lining and interlining). It was my first time working with linen, and first project of this magnitude and skill level. The fabric was an absolute dream to work with, and I shudder to think how badly the attempt might have turned out with lower quality fabric. I did soak, wash, dry and iron before cutting, to premeptively resolve any bleeding or shrinking issues. The Blue Bonnet did leech a fair amount of dye during the soak, but the color stayed almost entirely true. Did have some small amount of shrinkage, but I had already accommodated for that on my pattern requirements. As with any linen I have ever seen (and most woven fabrics for that matter) fraying could have been an issue, but I got out head of that as well, by serging the edges whenever possible (not accurate, but I am still enough of an amature that structure is more important). Ultimately, any issues I had were entirely due to lack of skill (still figuring out how to tailor things better) and piecing together several patterns to make the whole thing work.
