The Amalfi pattern collection inspires a trip to the beach or a relaxing afternoon poolside. This trio includes a robe, beach towel, and tote bag. The robe is calf-length with a roomy fit, self belt-tie, and two front patch pockets. The beach towel is color-blocked with stripes and has optional tassel details. Customer Questions and Answers
In one of your articles featuring this pattern, one creator enhanced it with scrap-pieced bottom edges. The result appeared to result in an A-line robe. Question: did she flare out the lower area to fill out the robe into an A-line?
Hello, any details about adjustments to the pattern will be included in the original blog post.
Is this medium-weight linen in different colors - to make the beach towels?
Yes, we have pieced our IL019 medium weight linen in different colors to make the beach towel pictured here for this pattern.
What kind of fabric would I use to make towels?
Our waffle linen IS010 is a very popular choice as is the heavier 4C22 for bath towels.
The Amalfi robe pattern is wonderfully put together. I love the booklet "at-a-glance" section that summarizes all the sewing steps before I dive into the pattern. I didn't stray far from the original instructions (made here in size 2), but I did shorten the hem for my height and raised the pockets to avoid interrupting the scrap-pieced bottom edges. The belt loops are a favorite feature of mine, with two loops on either side for comfort & some flexibility on wear. And the overall fit is relaxed and comfortable, it's hard not to want to just wear it around the house all day.
